If you’re wanting a bit of a smile makeover to get your smile ready for your wedding day, we’re here with the different options for you! We’ve got treatments whether you want a smile makeover in a day or you’re a bit more prepared in your wedding planning and have longer to work with. Having a smile you feel confident with can help you feel your best on the big day, whether it’s a small adjustment like teeth whitening or something more significant like having veneers. So, let’s get into it!
Book A Dentist Appointment
The first thing you should do is book a dentist appointment. They will be able to do a full oral health examination and talk about how long you have before the wedding, then they can provide you with personalised recommendations specific to you. Whether you go to a dentist in Milton Keynes, Miami or Madrid, choose one that is well recommended and this is a great direction to go in terms of getting your smile ready. Now you know the first step, we’re going to introduce a few different treatments that are popular when people are looking to get their smile wedding ready.
Teeth Whitening
First up, one of the most popular treatments you can have is teeth whitening. If you are happy with the shape and straightness of your teeth and just want to brighten your smile, teeth whitening is a great option, as it really can transform your smile. Depending on the type of teeth whitening you have, it usually takes around 3 weeks, so it’s perfect if you want a quick turnaround. Whilst there are options for teeth whitening online, it’s so important that you have it done through a dentist, as it will keep your teeth healthy throughout the process, whereas a lot of online kits are unsafe and unregulated. So, for a quick and simple smile transformation, consider teeth whitening!
Composite Bonding
If you’re looking for a more significant transformation in terms of the shape and size of your teeth, for example if they’re uneven, have chips or have gaps, then composite bonding is a great choice. It can be done in just one appointment as well, so you can leave with a brand new smile if you’re leaving it quite late before the wedding. This involves a composite resin being applied and cured onto the tooth, creating your desired smile. You can have this on just a few teeth, or all of your teeth (this is more commonly referred to as composite veneers). The composite resin can be matched to your teeth, or you can have them whitened first and then the composite will be matched, as unfortunately the resin itself can’t be whitened once applied. This is a fantastic option and is a great way to get your smile wedding ready.
Invisalign
Lastly, if you’re planning in advance and your wedding isn’t for another year or two, then Invisalign is a great choice. If you’re not happy with the alignment of your smile, Invisalign can straighten it and help create your dream smile. You can then have treatments like whitening or composite bonding to finish the smile for a full transformation. Invisalign can take between 6 months and 2 years so won’t be right for everyone, however with the right maintenance (visiting your dentist and wearing your retainers as suggested) then results can last a lifetime.
